Comparing Cross-Linked and Non-Cross-Linked Hyaluronic Acid for Early Healing After Tooth Extraction
Conditions: Wound Healing After Tooth Extraction
Sex: All
Ages: 18 Years – 45 Years
Healthy volunteers: Yes
Phase: NA
Enrollment: 60
Sponsor: Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University
Location: Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University Mórfou
Summary
This study compares early healing after a non-surgical tooth extraction in adults. Participants are assigned by chance to one of three groups: cross-linked hyaluronic acid placed in the extraction site using a gelatin sponge; non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid placed using a gelatin sponge; or a gelatin sponge alone. The study team measures the wound area using photographs at the time of extraction and on days 3, 7, and 14. A clinician who does not know the assigned group also assesses healing. Participants report their pain and use of pain-relief medicine. The study compares healing among the three groups.
