Summary

Total knee arthroplasty is a surgical procedure used to relieve pain and improve function in patients with severe knee joint problems. However, patients may experience pain, fear of movement (kinesiophobia), and difficulties in feeling ready to leave the hospital after surgery. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of mind mapping-based education on postoperative pain, kinesiophobia, and discharge readiness in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty. In this study, patients will receive education based on mind mapping in addition to routine care, or routine care alone, according to their assigned study group. Mind mapping is a visual learning method that presents information using connected words, concepts, and diagrams. The study will compare the outcomes of the groups to determine whether mind mapping-based education improves patients' postoperative experiences and readiness for discharge. Postoperative pain, fear of movement, and discharge readiness will be assessed using appropriate measurement tools. The findings may help improve patient education and support recovery after total knee arthroplasty.
