Summary

This study evaluates the effect of the BATHE therapeutic interview technique on treatment adherence and blood pressure control in primary care hypertension patients. Hypertension patients aged 18-80 years were randomly assigned to an intervention or control group. The intervention group received the structured BATHE communication technique during clinical visits, while the control group received standard primary care counseling on drug adherence and lifestyle changes. Patients were followed for 6 months (visits at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months). Primary outcomes assessed include treatment adherence scores, drug compliance, and blood pressure levels.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria: Diagnosed with hypertension for at least 6 months Aged between 18 and 80 years Registered at the family health center where the study was conducted Voluntary participation with signed informed consent Ability to use online video communication channels (e.g., WhatsApp or another video interview channel) Exclusion Criteria: Presence of communication barriers Active psychiatric disease or current use of psychiatric medication Pregnancy
